THE JUNGLE BEAUTY OF ARUNACHAL PRDESH ( INDIA )

 jungle beauty of Arunachal

I and my wife decided to visit Arunachal Pradesh. The beauty of that place is simply great. So we booked flight tickets through internet for Dibrugarh. First we will visit Namdafa. We decided to stay at Miodia Eco Camp. There is another reason behind this and that to visit the tribes of Mishmi.

TRIBES  OF  MISHMI

Still now they are far from the civilization with their own cultural and religious thoughts. Farming and cultivation is done with the help of elephants. Each village comprises two or three huts, maximum 12 to 15 people live there. Most of the time hills are covered by the clouds. We got so excited that we started taking our pre journey preparation following the check list.

DIBRUGARH  CITY

Our flight kisses Dibrugarh at the right time. We checked out and loaded our luggage and headed towards Arunachal Pradesh. On the way we got the news from the driver that it is impossible to reach Miodia due to excessive rainfall for the last 3-4 days. The rivers have become ferocious and it is impossible to cross the river along with the vehicle on ferry. But it is possible to reach beautiful place called Medo.

MIODIA  IN  WINTER

We took rest for a while and continued our journey. Another vehicle packed with foods, vegetables, generator set along with the cook is also going with us. We have seen cloudy sky when we started the journey. It started raining for a little so we stopped for a short period at a place called Makum where there is a market and everyone did necessary marketing for the journey. Slowly we reached Dirak Gate, the Arunachal Pradesh border where we all had to show our photo identity card because Arunachal Pradesh falls under inner line permit zone. We reached Medo by evening. Dinner will be late so we enjoyed the time by gossiping and planning our next day journey. After dinner we went to sleep listening to the melody of the nocturnal creatures.
Next day we woke late but got ready early for our that day journey. We went to a jungle where on side we saw lots of tree trunks cut down for the sake of civilization. Our next spot was Parasuram Kund on the way to Teju.
TUJU

We crossed many small rivers on the way but they do not seem to be small looking into their size. Rivers, hills, jungle, the cloudy sky looked so beautiful that we could not resist ourselves to do photography. Civilization has not yet destroyed the natural beauty. There is a long, wide concrete bridge over the turbulent waters of the Lohit River. On the right side of the bridge a small hill has risen up amidst the river. The area in between the river bank and the spot is known as Parasuram Kund where the sage Parasuram used to take bath throughout the year. On the other side of the hill there is a way to a temple.

PARASURAM  KUND

We stopped on the right side of the bridge at a caffetoria where we took coffee, tea and potato chips. Then we returned to Medo bungalow. Next day we started our journey towards Namsai to watch beautiful pagodas. After traveling for a little while on the main road, we took a less important by-road and reached Namsai after traveling for a short while. There is a beautiful Buddhist temple beside a small river.

PAGODA

After watching the temple we went to watch the pagodas which go by the name Buddhavihar where we saw lying Buddha. After taking lots of photos, we went to watch another pagoda enveloped in gold named as Golden pagoda on the other side of a small bridge .We automatically bowed our heads while watching it. The pagoda is situated in a beautiful garden inside which we saw bamboo huts where little boys were seen to be taught Buddhism, what a beauty!
GOLDEN  PAGODA

After dinner we went to village where elephants are tamed to help villagers in their daily work including ploughing. Every year more over 200 elephants are taken to Myanmar for helping people at their daily work and they return after completion of work. Again we returned to Medo. It rained that night from evening.
Next day we packed ourselves ready very early for Dibru-Saikhowa National park.

DIBRU-SAIKHOWA  NATIONAL  PARK

Our plan was to do boating at Guijan and after that take night stay at Banasree Eco camp.As per our planning we packed our lunch on the boat and went to watch the water flooded forest of Dibru-Saikhowa by boat.

GUIJAN

DIBRU-SAIKHOWA  NATIONAL  PARK

We saw fox-tel orchid almost on every tree, we trekked the jungle , took lots of photos and then at last we returned to Banasree Eco camp. The Eco camp comprises of 5-6 small beautiful cottages. We took our seat on the grassland situated in front of the cottage, but to our bad luck due to inadequate availability of fan, light and presence of excessive mosquitoes we did our night stay at a hotel in Tinsukia.

BORAJAN  FOREST

The next day we trekked to the Borojan forest where we trekked through the jungle, saw many beautiful places and returned to our hotel. Then came the time to return to home. On the next day after breakfast we headed for Dibrugarh where our scheduled to Kolkata was at 4:25 pm.

We returned to our home full of sweet memories of Arunachal Pradesh and always dream as if it is calling us “Come soon again”.
